Prior to joining SUMS, Penny-Lynn spent 20 years with Deloitte, Southern Africa in a variety to operational and recruitment roles, including personal assistant / secretarial, learning and development – managing a suite of non-technical learning programmes. She also spent ten of those years in a senior event management co-ordinator role, which included arranging and managing local and global programmes and events.
Penny-Lynn emigrated to the UK in 2015 with her husband and son from South Africa, Johannesburg. She attained her British citizenship in 2021, and Reading has always been her hometown! Her first job in the country was with a local primary school supporting the school leadership team, families, and local authority partners.
In her role, she hopes to bring enthusiasm and a willingness to help and support SUMS & SUPC members and clients!
She loves week-end road trips with her boys and spending time with her two golden cocker spaniels! Her favourite moments are listening out for people speaking with a South African accent (in everyday life) and striking up conversations with them, especially in Afrikaans, which is her second language!
