Before joining SUMS in 2019, Will was a Director at the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education with overall accountability for QAA reviews of English universities and further education and private colleges. In that role, he was also responsible for degree-awarding powers scrutinies and QAA’s licensing of the Access to Higher Education Diploma.
Prior to becoming a Director at QAA, Will spent almost 10 years as an Assistant Director leading reviews of UK universities’ domestic and overseas provision. Before that he was a senior policy officer at the Higher Education Funding Council for England, involved in research funding policy and national initiatives to enhance higher education leadership, governance and management.
Will thrives on understanding the specific needs and aspirations of SUMS members and other clients. He develops strong relationships and seeks creative solutions to challenges. His in-depth knowledge of UK and overseas funding and regulatory systems can help members address regulatory issues, grow their provision or maintain and enhance the learning experience of their students.
