Steve is passionate about delivering the best experience possible to students and enabling them to achieve their goals and potential, working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels to design and implement the best solutions. He can work with you and your teams to shape future service strategy and operational effectiveness putting the student at the heart of any future design.
Steve has nearly 25 years of experience in the UK Higher Education sector. This includes 19 yrs at the Open University where as Director of Student Success he was responsible for improving University-wide retention, progression and completion and as Director of Business Performance Improvement (BPI), he created and led an internal consulting team specialising in lean methodology to identify and implement changes to process, structures and technology across the whole spectrum of University business operations.
Since 2019 he has worked as an interim/consultant helping organisations with change and transformation.

Outside the day job, Steve writes, directs and acts with local theatre groups and has published a wide range of comedy plays and stage adaptations of popular TV sitcoms. As a bit of a history buff, he also gives talks to schools on historical period dressed in period costume!
