Prior to joining SUMS in 2023, Renée worked for the Open University, where she led several strategic initiatives, including most recently a programme to reform the University’s tuition and assessment model to help deliver cost savings of £23m. She led a complex programme to upgrade the University’s legacy finance and procurement systems to an integrated ERP platform. In her capacity as Deputy Director, Strategic Portfolio, she oversaw the management of the University’s strategic change portfolio totalling £50m in value, and established frameworks for delivery assurance and for manging risks and benefits.

Renée previously worked for the London Borough of Camden, where she developed and implemented strategies to improve services for children and young people. She has also held various project management roles at the Greater London Authority, Camden Council, and East London NHS Foundation Trust.

Renée is an MSP (Managing Successful Programmes), MoP (Management of Portfolios) MoR (Management of Risks) and PRINCE2 Practitioner. She also holds an APM PMQ (Association of Project Management Qualification) and a degree in Business Information Technology.

Outside work, Renée enjoys travelling, gaming and trying to keep up with her teens – i.e. not embarrassing them too much!
