She brings experience of the sustainability landscape across different sectors to help Higher Education Institutions fulfil their leadership potential in this space, supporting them to find suitable approaches across areas including:
- Assessment of environmental and social risks and impacts
- High impact vision and goal setting to develop a comprehensive strategy with sustainability at its core, including how to capitalise on the opportunities available
- Navigating an increasingly complex landscape to help institutions to deliver strategies in line with internationally recognised standards and frameworks
- Understanding the wider carbon landscape, including how offsetting can support an overall strategy for sustainability.
Pippa joined SUMS in 2024 from McKinsey & Co., where she was a member of the sustainability practice specialising in nature strategy and climate policy. Previously, she worked for Vivid Economics, project managing cutting-edge initiatives to help make nature and biodiversity material to financial institutions. She has a MSc in strategic leadership for sustainability from Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden, and a BSc in psychology from the University of St Andrews. Pippa also has wide experience working within the third sector, having worked for three national charities prior to studying for her master’s degree.
How has Pippa supported organisations with sustainability?

Pippa lives in Essex and spends most of her time outside of work at the stables or in the countryside with her horse Rebel.
