Nina has over 20 years of HE experience, working across both academic and professional services areas to enable universities to widen their view of education in a sustainable and impactful way. She specialises in enabling universities to understand and operationalise educational opportunities beyond on campus degrees, putting the learner voice at the heart of the offering.

Nina joined SUMS in 2023 after over 16 years at King’s College London. Nina was Director and then Executive Director of King’s Foundations, widely seen as one of the leading providers of high-quality pre-university pathways in the UK, enabling over 16,000 international students to start their King’s degree and transforming the international reach of King’s. The department regularly delivered some of the highest levels of student satisfaction across the university.

Most recently, she was the founding Executive Director of the School of Professional & Continuing Education at King’s, a cross-cutting School at the cutting edge of educational innovation. She successfully led the overall concept design, development, multimillion-pound business case, set up and operationalisation of this cross-University School. This brought together Online Education, Professional & Executive Education, Short Courses, Foundations and the Language Centre into one School, enabling King’s to expand its educational reach and deliver that education in a more integrated and effective way. Nina had overall responsibility for over 11,000 students and 400 staff. She also sat on University Executive and Academic Board.

Nina is skilled in complex stakeholder management, working effectively and collaboratively across many academic disciplines and professional services to develop strategy and operationalise this from a one university perspective. Examples include the development of a professional education strategy, review and repositioning of online education, and integrated pre-university approach in delivering diverse student cohorts across multi disciplines.

Nina has previously worked and taught at the University of Salford, University of Manchester, London School of Economics & Political Science and University of East London, so has experience across both Russell Group and newer universities.
