He’s previously served as the Head of Financial Operations at Goldsmiths University of London, Senior Finance Business Partner at Imperial College London and a Finance Business Partner at the University of York. Jamie’s career reflects a robust capability in managing financial operations and leading transformative projects across various educational institutions.
How has Jamie recently supported universities?
- Implemented a new student payments provider, saving £350k annually in bank charges
- Supported Professional Services workstream transformation to devise a new Target Operating Model and effected substantial savings
- Implemented new budgeting system, including student number model
- Built a cash flow forecasting model using student enrolment data, allowing the institution to measure its liquidity risk exposure and place more funds on long-term deposit, increasing investment income by over £300k per annum – in addition, rationalised overseas student payment plans to improve working capital by as much as £12m mid-year.
Outside of work Jamie likes to run, having completed several marathons. He also enjoys travelling, most recently to South-East Asia including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. He also learns Indonesian in his spare time.
