William develops interactive dashboards, financial models, and geospatial tools that assess climate risks, sustainability opportunities, and institutional resilience. He is always looking for new ways to tell stories with data, helping provide additional perspectives through interactive tools.

His goal is to empower members to make informed, sustainable choices. By combining Python frameworks with the latest AI tools, he helps members quickly develop problem-solving solutions. He harnesses his environmental background and technical expertise to provide an adaptable, future-oriented perspective well suited to the HE sector.

In September 2024, William earned his master’s with distinction in Environmental Science and Sustainability from King’s College London. During his studies, he completed a four-month work placement with the People and Environment team at Lambeth Council. There, he learned GIS workflows for sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and delivered a spatial analysis report identifying high-priority investment areas for new green infrastructure projects.

Prior to this, he worked with the marine engineering start-up Victory Marine after relocating to London in December 2021.

How has William supported universities?

  • Development of a sector-wide HE sustainability and land-use risk report (UK)
  • Key Market research for SUMS associates
  • Prototyping python based tools for client proposals (AHUA/internal ideation)

Outside of work, William is most likely either training for an upcoming swim / bike competition or prototyping custom air quality sensors for bikes with open-source low-cost hardware and software!
