With a strong background across higher education, public and private sectors – Jemma draws on data, insights and trends to translate complex change into clear messaging helps institutions navigate restructures, digital transformation, and strategic planning.
Her collaborative, outcome-focused approach ensures measurable impact and meaningful engagement at all levels; builds strong stakeholder relationships and enabling effective consultation.
The breadth of experience in interim roles means she can step in quickly, lead/contribute-to teams, and maintain momentum during transitions. Additionally, she is skilled in managing crisis communications—delivering timely, composed messaging that protects reputation and ensures trust. Her practical, insight-led approach ensures sustainable change and meaningful impact for SUMS members and clients.
How has Jemma recently supported institutions?
- University College London – led the change, communications and engagement strategy for the Strategic Plan priority to deliver the simplification of services spanning Faculties and Professional Services. This included programmes for Student Recruitment and Admissions; HR, Finance and Shared Services; and Marketing and Communications.
- Kingston University – led the change, consultation and engagement for the dissolution of Kingston University and St George’s joint Faculty of Health. This included the TUPE transfer of staff, establishment of new internal departments, launch of new organisation structure and leadership, Trade Union engagement, partnership retention plans and student engagement.
- University of East London – delivered consultancy, strategies and content to execute transformation ambitions. This included embedding the new Strategic Change Directorate, launch/onboarding of the new Track My Future app and Aspire Finance, and relaunch of Vision 2028 and tracking deliverables.
- Jaguar Land Rover – led change communications and engagement for Vehicle Connected Services, specifically the international roll-out of the Services Storefront, e-commerce platform and internally raising the awareness of these products Enterprise-wide.
