SUMS Organisational Design Community of Practice (ODCOP) for strategic leaders and practitioners.

SUMS are excited to launch our Organisational Design Community of Practice (ODCOP) for strategic leaders and practitioners.

Organisation Design is a critical capability which analyses the gap between current and future performance and links it to the practices needed to deliver sustained change. It often sits within an Organisational Development function and therefore may also encompass aspects such as development, change, culture, talent, and leadership.

We’re aiming the group at OD practitioners and leaders – HR Directors, Deputy Directors, and those who have responsibility for driving organisation development / design / change practices within their institution.

The group is an opportunity to look to the future, to understand better the strategic drivers that will shape our OD activities. We will focus on initiatives that have the greatest impact, systems, structures, people practices, reward, performance measures, policies, processes, culture, and the wider environment. In joining the group, you’ll be able to network with other leaders, share best practice and learn from each other.

Our first ODCOP session on 23rd March will consider the architecture of Organisation Design and the building blocks needed to be effective in your institution. It is an increasingly important agenda item for universities to start accessing organisation design practices to assess people need and address those gaps through strategic design and focused-initiatives.

As part of this session, Jaimini Lakhani will attend to hold an interactive masterclass.

Jaimini is an Associate practitioner and course lead for the Advanced Organisation Design and Development programme for the CIPD and Director of Lumiere. She has held senior OD roles at the British Council, Burberry, Northern Rock, and Ministry of Justice.
