SUMS CHANGE MANAGEMENT COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE

Theme – "Where Change Management intersects with Wellbeing"

While the Covid-19 pandemic forced the Higher Education sector to focus on essential transformational change, challenges remain as we see a sector under significant pressure from the impact of rising costs alongside income challenges. As a result, the need for a mindset that prioritises health and wellbeing is now, more than ever, fundamental to any change initiative – no matter how big or small.

The SUMS Change Community started discourse about the inter-section between Change Management and Wellbeing at their monthly online meeting in February 2025. Our in-person event in July aims to build on these preliminary discussions with a focus on creating outputs that Change leaders and practitioners will find useful as they continue to drive change within their respective institutions.

Through a range of presentations, interactive activities and case-studies the session will seek to explore:

  1. How universities are embedding wellbeing into transformational change
  2. Accountability and responsibility for ensuring that wellbeing is central to change initiatives
  3. Key drivers of change in the sector and their connection to wellbeing
  4. Psychological models for framing a supportive change framework
  5. Case studies showcasing successful actions linking change management and wellbeing.
